Our retaining wall system is designed to exceed a 60+ year design life if installed correctly. Unlike timber and other solutions, they are impervious to rot, rust, corrosion, termites, and other factors.
Do you need a machine to install the sleepers?
No, TUFFPOLY Sleepers are less than 10kg per sleeper so they can be installed by hand, You can save up to 75% on your install costs as opposed to concrete and steel by reducing machinery.

How much do they weigh?
TUFFPOLY Sleepers are about 90% lighter than concrete & steel options, less than 10kg per sleeper allowing them to be moved around by hand not needing machines, perfect for hard-to-access sites.
What are the posts made from?
The posts match the sleepers with a timber grain in 2 colors and are made from the same structural composite, providing a whole system that matches in colour and finish.
Can I build my own retaining wall?

Do they require painting or maintenance?
No, they are a pre-finished product in 2 on-trend colors with a timber grain and do not require oiling or sealing. The product has multiple layers of UV inhibitors so fading is extremely minimal. Standard cleaning is all that is required to have a beautiful retaining wall last a lifetime.
Can they be cut?
TUFFPOLY sleepers & posts can be easily cut on-site using a circular saw and a diamond tip blade, it is recommended to use a wet saw or a vacuum to minimize dust particles.
Can you install fencing on top?
Yes, we have our own fence brackets that get bolted to the posts that allow a fence to be installed above, fence brackets are slightly adjustable to level your posts out.
Are they engineered?
Yes, the system has been designed to exceed AS 4678-2002 Earth Retaining Structures.
How long is the warranty?
TUFFPOLY offers a 25-year structural warranty which is available through our website. Follow the install guide for all the information required.
Do I need an engineer or building approval to build a retaining wall?
Each state has slightly different requirements, you will need to check depending on your location what the requirements are. Anything over 1m high in QLD needs to go to an engineer for
assessment.

What sizes are available?
TUFFPOLY sleepers come in 3 different sizes to suit most centers at 1.6m, 2.0m & 2.4m. Posts are available in 4 different lengths to suit various height walls. Typically the height of the wall above the ground is the depth of the post inside the ground, contact an engineer for further details.

Can they be painted?
Yes, the sleepers and posts can be painted to suit your color choices, give them a light sand with 120 grit sandpaper to help bond to the surface.
Can you do corners or stepped walls?
Simply use 2 x C Posts to create different degree corners. Stepped walls can be achieved with H posts or with 2 x C posts. Option to bolt fence brackets to the posts to install a fence above.
What length sleepers do I need?
Visit our span table or brochure to find out what length sleepers you require, there are some factors based on the height of the wall and if a fence is being installed above.
